Airport Care Team
Airline passengers are also airport customers and therefore all airports
have a duty of care. It is often assumed by airports that when an accident
occurs the airline will send a team of staff to attend to the needs of
those affected. Whilst in most cases this may be true there can often
be a significant delay until such help arrives. In addition the amount
and type of assistance that the airline is able to provide can vary greatly.
The course aims to provide airport volunteers with knowledge and skills to
provide practical, compassionate, humanitarian assistance and the confidence
to work face to face with people often at the worst time of their lives.
This is not only of great help to the airline involved but also demonstrates
the airport's commitment to the welfare of it's customers, staff and partners.
